# A2P 10DLC registration

> Register your business and campaign with US carriers so your SMS gets delivered. What you supply, what Nedzo writes and hosts for you, and what registration costs.

US carriers make every business register before it can text from a local 10-digit number. That process is called **A2P 10DLC**. Unregistered traffic gets filtered or blocked, so registration is the first thing to do before you send a single message.

Nedzo files it for you. You supply your business details. Nedzo writes the campaign, generates the opt-in page, and submits both to the carriers.

<Note>
  A2P 10DLC covers **US and Canada** numbers only. Registration takes a few business days on the carrier side, so start it before you plan your first send.
</Note>

## Where to start

1. Open **Phone Numbers** and select the **Messaging (A2P)** tab.
2. Click **Register for 10DLC**.
3. Work through the three steps below.

You can only have one registration in progress or active at a time. The button is disabled while one is running.

## What you supply

The wizard is three steps. Have these ready before you start.

### Step 1: Business details

| Field                         | What it is                                                                                                                         |
| ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Legal business name** | The name on your tax filings, not your trading name |
| **Display name** | The brand name your customers know you by |
| **Entity type** | Limited Liability Company, Publicly Traded Corporation, Non-profit Corporation, Sole-Proprietorship, or Government or Co-operative |
| **EIN** | Your federal tax ID. Required for every entity type except Sole-Proprietorship |
| **Industry** | The vertical your business sits in, such as Healthcare, Real Estate, or Retail |
| **Authorised representative** | A real person at your business: first name, last name, email, and phone |
| **Business address** | Street, city, state, postal code, and country |

Two entity types ask for extra fields:

* **Sole-Proprietorship** skips the EIN but needs a **mobile number**. Carriers send an SMS one-time code there to verify you.
* **Publicly Traded Corporation** needs your **stock symbol** and **stock exchange**.

<Warning>
  Carriers check the legal name, EIN, and address against public records. One wrong character gets the brand rejected. Copy them straight off your IRS letter or state filing rather than typing from memory.
</Warning>

### Step 2: Campaign type and consent

Pick your campaign type, then tick the consent acknowledgement. The acknowledgement covers the registration charge, the monthly campaign fee, and the fact that carriers charge again for failed campaigns and resubmissions.

You do not write any campaign wording here. See [What Nedzo handles](#what-nedzo-handles).

### Step 3: Logo

Upload your brand logo. Nedzo puts it on the opt-in page it generates for your filing.

| Requirement | Value                |
| ----------- | -------------------- |
| Max size    | 2 MB                 |
| Formats | PNG, JPEG, SVG, WebP |

## What Nedzo handles

### The opt-in page

Carriers want proof that people agreed to receive your texts. Most providers make you build that page yourself, host it, and hand them the link.

Nedzo does it for you. It generates an SMS opt-in page from your business details and your logo, hosts it, and attaches it to your carrier filing as the consent proof. You do not need a page on your own site and you have nothing to host, publish, or maintain.

<Note>
  The opt-in page exists for the carrier filing. It is not a marketing page, and there is nothing for you to manage or share.
</Note>

### The campaign copy

The campaign description, sample messages, opt-in wording, keywords, and compliance links are standardised. Nedzo generates all of them server-side to match what carriers approve, so you do not draft them and you cannot edit them. That is what keeps rejections down.

The samples describe the shape of your traffic to the carrier. They do not limit what your real messages say.

## Cost

| Campaign type | Registration | Monthly campaign fee |
| ----------------- | ---------------- | -------------------- |
| Low-Volume Mixed  | \$23.80 one time | Up to \$12/month     |
| High-Volume Mixed | \$54.40 one time | Up to \$12/month     |

Both fees are set by the carriers and passed through at cost. They show as separate lines on your invoice. See [Usage-based charges](/billing/plans#usage-based-charges) for how the rest of your telephony bills.

<Warning>
  Carriers charge the campaign fee again for failed campaigns and for every resubmission. Getting Step 1 right the first time is the cheapest path.
</Warning>

## Tracking the registration

The **Messaging (A2P)** tab lists your registrations with a brand status and a campaign status. Nedzo registers the brand first, then the campaign. The registration is done when both read active.

If either one fails, the row shows a reason from the carrier and a **Fix & Resubmit 10DLC** action. Correct the field the carrier flagged and submit again. Resubmitting needs a fresh logo upload, since the file is not kept between attempts.

Common rejection reasons:

* The legal name, EIN, or address does not match public records.
* The entity type is wrong. A sole trader filed as a company gets rejected.
* The authorised representative cannot be tied to the business.

## After approval

Your workspace numbers can send SMS. Two things stay on you:

* **Keep the opt-out footer on.** Nedzo adds it to the first message you send a new number, with your business name and STOP instructions. Carriers expect it. See [Send SMS action](/workflows/actions/send-sms#compliance).
* **Honour opt-outs.** Nedzo blocks every outbound path to a contact who replied STOP, per number. See [SMS opt-out handling](/unibox/channels#opt-out-handling-tcpa).
