# Turn a workflow on or off

> Turn a workflow on or off.

<Note>
  This endpoint is for the VIP plan only. Other plans get a `403`. See [Plan access](/api-reference/introduction#plan-access).

Turn a workflow on or off. A workflow that is off starts no new runs. Turning it on also needs a plan that includes workflows.

## Path Parameters

  `true` to turn it on, `false` to turn it off.

It answers with the workflow, the same as [Get a workflow](/api-reference/workflows/get).

## Errors

| Status | When |
| - | - |
| `400` | `isActive` is missing or not true or false, or you turned on a workflow that has a step that turns DND off. |
| `402` | The account has no plan, or its subscription is not active. |
| `403` | Your plan is not VIP, or you turned it on and workflows are not on your plan. |
| `404` | No workflow has this id, or it is not in this key's scope. |
