# Stop calling a contact

> Stop one campaign from calling one contact.

<Note>
  This endpoint is for the VIP plan only. Other plans get a `403`. See [Plan access](/api-reference/introduction#plan-access).

This stops this campaign only. Other campaigns can still call the contact. To stop all contact with a person, on every channel, turn on DND for the contact instead.

Calling it twice keeps the first stop time and reason. It also works for a contact the campaign has not added yet: the campaign will never add them.

<Warning>
  The old path, `POST /v1/outbound-campaigns/{campaignId}/contacts/{contactId}/stop`, is VIP only now. Pro and every other plan get a `403` there. VIP keys can keep using it for one more release, then it is removed. Move to this path.
